Stories are usually told in a sequential manner, although this is not really how they happen. First, in the moment, stories are dynamic, three dimensional, appearing in layers intersecting and parallel, rather that in a sequential line. I am interested in exploring the structure of stories on the page. I am interested in giving the children structure so that they can formulate their stories.
This will be an active class of art-making and story-making. Students will be offered a range of drawing mediums and techniques. There will be a focus on composition both in the narrative, as well as on the page.
